This article tackles the age old question of diet versus exercise, and how they affect your energy consumption at rest. When looking for immediate weight loss results dieting is a far more efficient than exercise.  However, the human body responds by slowing down its metabolism (even at rest).  And, since we all burn 60% to 75% of our calories at rest this is particularly important.  When you resume your regular caloric intake, it is usually stored as fat.  In fact, many times people gain more than they initially lost.  My solution is to use a form of reverse dieting (after achieving your weight loss goal) in combination with regular exercise.  This will allow your body’s metabolism to remain higher while adapting to an increase in calories over time.  If you are interested in learning more about my reverse dieting program please contact me at inquiries@koshmanfitnesssystems.com.
